
MAGNOLIA SCHOOL DISTRICT TO OFFER FREE MEALS TO ALL STUDENTS


MAGNOLIA BACK TO SCHOOL EVENTS
The Magnolia School District will welcome students back for the first day of school on Monday, August 16. All classes are currently scheduled for on-site instruction. All schools will run on regular schedules with breakfasts and lunches provided the first day. Leading up to the first day of school, District faculty and staff will be involved in several days of professional development and other campus activities.
On Monday, August 9, District employees will meet in the new Performing Arts Center on the campus of Magnolia High School where they will be welcomed back by Superintendent, John Ward. During the first day, staff members from each campus will provide presentations related to the overall theme of, “Relationships Matter.”
On Tuesday, August 10, staff members will listen virtually to key note speaker, Ron Clark. Clark is a motivational speaker and author and the 2000 Disney American Teacher of the Year. He is a two-time New York Times Bestselling author, the subject of a television movie and the founder of the Ron Clark Academy. Ron Clark brings charisma, energy, and devotion to the education profession.
Some of the other topics that will be presented during the week include:
• Student Mentoring and Intervention Program
• Active Shooter Intruder Response Training
• Human Trafficking
• Child Maltreatment Mandated Reporter Training
• Title IX Training
• Professional Learning Communities
On Friday, August 13, the district will host a Meet the Teacher Visitation Day. Teachers and staff members from each campus will be available and all parents are encouraged to visit each of their child’s teachers and establish a positive working relationship for the academic year.
This year, parents are asked to visit campuses on the following schedules. District teachers with school-age children will visit their teachers from 8:00-9:00 am.
Walker Pre-Kindergarten Center
Time slots will be scheduled to limit the number of parents visiting any one teacher at the same time. Teachers will call parents to notify them of their specific time slot.
East Side Elementary School
Parents will be mailed a letter notifying them of the schedule below to visit their teacher. Last names beginning with: A – F 9:00 – 10:00
G – O 10:00 – 11:00
P – Z 11:00 – 12:00
Central Elementary School
9:00 – 10:30 Third Grade
10:30 – 12:00 Fourth Grade

MAGNOLIA SCHOOL DISTRICT WELCOMES NEW TEACHERS
The Magnolia School District welcomed thirty-seven new licensed personnel to the District at its annual new teacher orientation training on July 29.
New teachers joining East Side Elementary School are Hannah Larey, kindergarten; Cait Light, kindergarten; Kimberly Bolyer, first grade; Brittany Hilliard, first grade; Jasmine Howell, first grade; Sydnee Torres, second grade; and Jaymee King, music.
New teachers at Central Elementary School include Lana Brock, third grade; Emma McWilliams, third grade; Stacy Garcia, fifth grade; Gabrielle Gleason, fifth grade; Alisha Goodner, fifth grade; Elizabeth Liberty, fifth grade; and Mallary Bowser, special education.
The Magnolia Middle School’s new teachers are Brianna Burton, English; Trey Davis, PE/health/coach; Scarlett Duncan, English; Charlotte Foster, English; Rachael Jones, science; Crissy Klober, special education; Andrea Muldrew, science; Isabella Munson, band; Aaron Nelson, social studies; Lacey Stuart, dyslexia interventionist; and Courtney Williams, PE/health/coach.

MAGNOLIA SCHOOL DISTRICT HOSTS BACK-TO-SCHOOL VACCINATION CLINIC
The Magnolia School District will host a Back-To-School COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic TOMORROW, Wednesday, July 28. The clinic will be held in Panther Arena and start at 2:00 PM. During this clinic, the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine will be administered. A follow-up clinic for the second dose of the vaccine will be held in approximately three to four weeks.
This clinic is for District students (age 12 and older) and District staff members. Parents who want their students (age 12 and older) to receive the vaccine and staff members who want the vaccine should phone the District Administration building at 234-4933 and give their name, student's name and age, and phone number.
Immunization forms must be completed prior to receiving the vaccine. Forms can be picked up at the front desk of the District Administration Building across the street from Magnolia High School.
STUDENTS (AGE 12 AND OLDER) AND STAFF MEMBERS WHO ARE FULLY VACCINATED (TWO WEEKS FOLLOWING THEIR SECOND DOSE) WILL NOT BE REQUIRED TO QUARANTINE IF THEY SHOULD HAPPEN TO BE EXPOSED TO A POSITIVE COVID-19 CASE.
