Magnolia High School celebrated student success from the 2024 AP exams this week. AP courses are open for any student who is willing to take the class and the AP exam. The rigor of AP classes helps students learn how to study and prepares them to handle college courses. AP students prove to be more successful in college than students who do not take an AP course. More importantly, Magnolia High School alumni have reported back to us from college, letting us know that these AP courses have indeed helped our students prepare for college. Many AP classes also allow for dual college credit, which creates considerable savings on college tuition.
In May 2024, there were 272 AP exams taken by 146 students who were enrolled in AP courses. There were 79 qualifying scores made by 50 students who passed their AP exams. AP exams are given a score of 1-5. Only 3s, 4s, and 5s are considered passing scores. This year, these students will receive $50 per qualifying score.
Many of our 2024 graduates have begun their college careers, but we would like to formally recognize those who passed an AP exam last year:

The AP Program has four levels of awards to recognize high school students who have demonstrated college-level achievement through AP courses and exams. These are sanctioned by the College Board.
