Magnolia High School Panther Band Earns Sweepstakes Plaque with Superior Ratings
The Magnolia High School Panther Band has again demonstrated excellence in musicianship, earning top honors at the recent Concert Assessment held on March 11th. The band received straight Superior Ratings from every adjudicator in the Prepared Concert portion of the assessment, along with a Superior Rating in Sight-Reading.
This outstanding achievement, combined with the band's previous success at the Marching Assessment—where they also earned straight Superior Ratings—has secured the prestigious Sweepstakes Plaque for the 2024-2025 school year. The Sweepstakes Plaque is awarded to bands that achieve Superior Ratings in marching and concert assessments, and is a testament to the dedication, talent, and hard work of the students and their directors.
"We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work, discipline, and musical growth throughout the year," said Valarie Laney, Director of the Panther Band. "Earning straight Superior Ratings at both assessments and receiving the Sweepstakes Plaque is a true testament to their commitment to excellence."
The Magnolia High School Panther Band continues to set high standards in performance and musicianship, representing the school and community with pride. Their latest accomplishment adds to the band's long-standing tradition of excellence.
