Magnolia High School Dance Team Named State Champions
The Magnolia High School Varsity Dance Team competed in the 2024 AAA State Dance Championship on Saturday, November 16, 2024, and brought home the 2024 1A-4A State Champions. The team can be seen performing at pep rallies and athletic events, but the highlight for them is competing. Head Coach Emily Manion-Barker, said, “They always understand the assignment and when the times get tough, they go harder.” After the win, she thanked Athletic Director Bobby Beeson, Magnolia High School Assistant Principal, Gary Herron, and the Magnolia community for always showing up, loving, and supporting the students and the team. The team is under the direction of Coach Emily Manion-Barker and Coach Melissa Matthews.
Members of the Varsity Dance Team are Seniors Olivia Langford and Addyson Faulk. Juniors Madison Schmittou, Avery Matthews, Johnelle Smith, Grace Chandler, Miyah Berry, Charlie Stewart, Krysten Gooden, and Jazirea Monk.
