Magnolia School District Revitalizes Drug-Free Student Program
Panther Proud Extreme is a spin-off of the team formerly known as Panther Pride. The team is composed of 40 students who were nominated by their teachers. This group was the vision of West Hagaman, a Special Education teacher at East Side Elementary School, and with the help of Emily Barker, a Math Interventionist at East Side Elementary and Cheer/Dance Coach for Magnolia High School, they began work on the performance. The 30-minute show is full of fun icebreakers, dances, and speakers that send a positive message to our younger Panthers about the importance of being drug-free, being kind, and making smart choices. The team will be traveling to each campus in the Magnolia School District from October 28 to November 1 to perform the show and acknowledge Red Ribbon Week, which will be celebrated from October 23rd to October 31st.
Emily said, “Both West and I were members of this organization in our years at MHS, and when he came to me about bringing this back and assisting him, I was excited to get to work with him and choreograph this show.”
