CONNOR HARRINGTON NAMED HEAD GOLF COACH FOR MAGNOLIA SCHOOL DISTRICT
A native of Magnolia, Connor Harrington graduated from Magnolia High School in 2019. Harrington was a member of the Panther golf team where he was a four-year letterman and was All-Conference in 2017 and 2018. In 2017 he was also an All-State selection. Connor played on the 4A-8 regional championship team in 2018 and was also the individual medalist at the regional tournament. In his last two years as part of the Panther golf team, he was selected as the Male Golfer of the Year for the men’s Panther golf team in 2017 and 2018. Harrington also played for the Panther baseball team where he was a three-year letterman, All-Conference and All-State in 2018, and All-Conference in 2019. He was a member of the 2016 state championship team and the 2017 district championship team and state runner-up. He was the Magnolia Offensive Most Valuable Player in 2019.
Connor recently concluded an impressive collegiate golf career at Southern Arkansas University. A two-time All-Great American Conference (GAC) selection on the course and SAU’s 2023-24 Most Outstanding Male Golfer, Harrington earned four College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors, was named a GAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete three times, and earned SAU’s 2023-24 Murphy USA Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
In his final year as a Mulerider, Harrington saved his best for last. The former Magnolia Panther capped the 2023-24 season with a Top 20 individual ranking in the Central Region, as well as a Top 145 golfer in all of Division II. In eleven tournaments, the fifth-year senior collected 537 wins, two top-three finishes with three additional top-six performances and averaged a 72.9 across thirty-two total rounds of golf.
Whether it was on the golf course, in the classroom, out in the community, or even at other Mulerider sporting events, Harrington's collegiate time in his hometown was well spent. He served as a member of the SAU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, as a student worker in the Athletic Communications office, as a member of the FCA leadership team and through "Muleriders in Magnolia." He volunteers in multiple capacities at his home church of First Baptist Church, was involved with SAU's Association of Baptist Students (ABS) and has coached a local travel baseball team for the past five years.
Harrington graduated in May 2024 with a Bachelors of Science in Education degree from Southern Arkansas University and will be teaching mathematics at Magnolia High School beginning in the 2024 -2025 school year.
